Gossip & Gists: Wizkid And Waje Have Reportedly Dropped Godwin Tom As Their Manager

Pop stars Wizkid and Waje have allegedly parted ways with their manager Godwin Tom. We gathered last night, that Wizzy and Godwin Tom may have had a disagreement after a recent overseas trip to Dubai and the UK.

Sources are saying Tom threw in the towel following the bitter spat, although we could not immediately confirm this. The popular music manager who has in the past managed acts like M.I and Show Dem Camp, has also parted ways with his other client Waje. The the cause of the business relationship breakdown between Waje and Godwin Tom is yet to be revealed, but we confirmed reliably it’s over for the duo who had a great relationship with plenty PDA.

Godwin Tom has been dropping some cryptic comments on Twitter and Instagram which shows signs of frustration over the recent developments. Godwin Tom tweeted ‘Fuck this shit… I’m done!’ a few days ago. He’s told close friends he may consider taking a break from the Nigerian music scene to try his hands on other ventures. ‘I’m on the move and I can’t look back… No regrets at all! Wasted time, I can’t get that back so everyday I go hard! #NoRegrets Pusha T,’ he added.

Both singers have removed Godwin Tom’s name and contacts from their Twitter pages and replaced them with their new managements. Waje’s Publicist has already confirmed to us that Godwin Tom is no longer managing the Edo State born singer. ‘Godwin Tom is no longer managing Waje ,’ Waje’s media rep Wild Flower PR told us. All efforts to reach Godwin Tom by correspondence have so far been unsuccessful. Godwin Tom started working with Waje in 2012, the same year he teamed up with Wizkid after the singer parted ways with his first manager Osagie Osarenkhoe.

Gossip & Gists: D’Banj And Manager Bankuli Part Ways

Pop star D’Banj and his buddy-manager Bankuli are no longer working together. The pair who stuck like Siamese, during the bitter drama with Mo’hits/Mavin, following the feud that destroyed D’banj’s friendship with Don Jazzy, has fallen out, according to sources in their camp.
We’re told Bankuli threw in the towel last month, following repeated disagreements with D’banj. No details on what’s responsible for this fresh brouhaha in D’banj’s camp, but those we’ve spoken to say there are issues of trust, leading to accusations and counter-accusations.

Bankulli was one of D’Banj’s mainframes, along with business manager Chidi Okeke and few others who stayed loyal to him, when everything came crumbling after his faceoff with Don Jazzy.

The bulky University of Ibadan graduate took over D’banj’s affairs after former manager Sunday Are stepped down, following the Mo’Hits 2012 controversy.

Although his relationship with D’Banj became prominent following the Mo’Hits break up, Bankuli had been involved with the entertainer right from the early days of his career, working with R70 under DJ Abass and Ayo Shonaiya to provide management and agency support.

Bankuli was for many years the Nigerian rep for R70 at a time when the UK-based company was a major link between the Nigerian music industry and the UK. Insiders say the problems between artiste and manager began after the disastrous Koko Concert of 2012, leading to eventual separation after several allegations were made by the DB records management early this year.

One of the many allegations, we’re told, is ‘anti-label activities’, although no one was willing to give details as at press time.

E! 365 also gathered that both parties have not seen this year, and chances of reconciliaton are ‘very very slim’, according to one insider…
